What are you looking for?
We start with an initial intake over the phone to gather some information about what you are hoping for from counselling.

A clinician will get in touch.
We will try and pair you with a clinician we feel would be a good fit based on what you have shared with us

Setting up your first session.
You will set up your first session with a clinician and start your therapy journey

FAQs
How do I know if I am eligible to use your services?
We are a not-for-profit society offering counselling to those who need it but cannot necessarily afford private practice rates. If you have access to extended health you are not eligible for Soul Matters. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please call or e-mail us to talk it through.
Who are your interns?
Our interns are dedicated volunteers completing their Master of Arts degree in Counselling from recognized universities. They are supervised by a team of certified, registered and highly skilled supervisors. Soul Matters co-founders Elsje and Jill oversee the program and are dedicated to your well-being and the development of upcoming clinicians.
Can I continue with my counsellor once they have completed their internship?
Unfortunately, this is not an option. After their internship with Soul Matters, your therapist will begin their own counselling careers away from Soul Matters. We will do our best to transition you seamlessly to another intern. All of our interns are caring and professional.
What will my first session be like?
Consider it a meet and greet with paperwork! You will met your counsellor, discuss our policies, complete confidentiality paperwork and begin the journey of sharing your story and what you hope to get out of counselling.
