Cassidy Loewen, Intern Clinician

Hi! I’m Cassidy and I am currently completing my master’s in counselling psychology at Trinity Western University. As an intern, I have the pleasure of putting my learning into practice with supervision and resources to help me be the best counsellor I can be.

Life is hard and coping in life can feel overwhelming, but you don’t need to walk it alone. I feel honored to walk alongside people during life’s challenging moments. I believe that cultivating warmth, safety, and hope is essential to the counselling process. My goal is to listen non-judgmentally and empathetically to foster relationship, build trust, and inspire growth.

My areas of focus are life transitions, trauma, relationship and communication challenges, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression.

I take a client-centered and relational approach to counselling. I value collaboration in the therapeutic relationship and respect the unique wisdom each person possesses. I acknowledge both systemic influences and attachment in my approach, meaning I listen for how societal, relational, and cultural contexts shape your life across time. I use modalities such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and sand tray to promote hope, self-understanding, and teach practical skills.

When I’m not here, you can find me out in nature walking with my dog, hiking through the trees, kayaking on the water, or tending to my garden. If I’m not there, I may be out trying a new hobby like pottery or furniture refinishing.
